Is there a limit on courses per term at WGU?
No. WGU tuition is a flat rate per six-month term, and the university does not cap how many courses you complete inside it. The only structural requirement is that you start the term with a standard full-time load (12 CUs for undergraduates) and stay in good standing. After that, a course is done when its assessment clears, and the next one opens.
This is the opposite of a semester calendar. There is no 16-week wait per class. If an objective assessment is passed on day 10, that course is finished on day 10.
What actually decides how many courses you finish?
Three things: your weekly hours, the assessment mix on your remaining list, and turnaround between attempts. Objective assessments (OAs) clear the day you pass the exam. Performance assessments (PAs) clear when a written submission passes the rubric, which means drafting time plus evaluation time plus any revision round.
